Tried and tested #AceForSchool Challenge

When Britmums said they would be doing a challenge with Ace, I jumped at the chance to try these stain removing products, with a pre-teen and a pre-schooler there’s always some stubborn stains that I struggle to remove.  As part of the challenge we were given 1 bottle of Ace for Colours and 1 bottle of Ace Stain Remover.

My littlest one loves to get up to all sorts, we paint, stick and bake
together, but I’m pretty good at making sure she’s covered up with an
apron!  However when it comes to meal times it’s another story.
Georgia loves baked beans...clothes...as we know...don’t love beans!
So on this occasion I had some baked bean soaked sleeves to put to
the test!

My eldest one is 12 now, she doesn’t get into as much mess as she
used to in school.  However that doesn’t mean she’s completely
stain free. There’s the white grubby shirt collars to tackle and pen
marks along with a splodge of tippex here and there!

First of all I soaked the stain by spraying it with the Ace Stain
Remover. It has a powerful spray that covers well.  On contact
with the stain it immediately starts bubbling, this would be due
to the active oxygen getting to work on that bean sauce, grubby
collar and pen marks!

The second step in the stain removal process was to add a
capful of Ace for colours directly into the drum of my washing
machine along with my normal detergent.  For difficult or
persistant odors you can also use this as a pre-treatment.
You can also soak garments by hand and use it in household
cleaning! Handy eh!

Here are the results after using the prouducts.  As you can see
the bean stain has gone completely, the grubby collar mark is
better but not gone completely, the pen has vanished but the
tipex mark remains.

I think these are pretty good results, If I had treated her shirts
from the beginning with the stain remover and added the Ace
for colours into my regular washes I’m sure her shirts wouldn’t
have the ground in dirt that’s there now.

The product definitely works best on stains that haven’t been
washed or baked in. I tried it on some other garments that had
stubborn pen marks I’d failed to remove before but it didn’t
work.  It faded them slightly but didn’t remove them altogether.
However the product doesn’t claim to do this anyway, I just
thought I’d give it an extra test!

Here are those results:

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, I hope it’s
been helpful
